Brent Patterson, D.D.S.

I am the founding owner of Texas City Family Dentistry and League City Family Dentistry.  I was born and raised in Texas City and graduated from TCHS in 1989.  My road to a dental education passed through a little town called College Station where I attended Texas A&M University GIG’EM.  After a well-earned Biomedical Science Degree, I attended one of the top-rated dental schools in the country, UT Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio.  In 1997 I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and headed back to the Bay Area.  Prior to opening my own office, I spent my first few years practicing as an associate with Dr. Frank Little in Clear Lake and a good friend of mine, Dr. Frank Bonno in Santa Fe.  I also worked for a time at the Galveston County Health District Dental Clinic in Galveston.

The Texas City office opened for patients in August of 1999 and the League City office made its debut as one of the most modern dental offices in the state in November of 2005.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy working with the community via service organizations - TC/LM Jaycees, etc. and spending time with my family. My wife Michele is also a TC native who graduated from TCHS (’88) and Texas A&M (’92).  She is a CPA and is the Manager of our Family Dentistry organization.  Our oldest Samantha was born while I was a senior in dental school and our boy Tucker was born 2 years later.  They keep us very busy and very happy.

You will not find me on the golf course - I have enough frustrations during the week!!!  I spend my ever-shrinking free time with the kids and or tinkering with new technology integration into dentistry.

David Colombo, D.D.S.

I have practiced dentistry for 20 years in Galveston, first as an associate, then opening my Seawall practice in 1996. I was raised in Galveston, class of 1980. I completed my undergraduate education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1984, then attended Dental School at The University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch at Houston. After receiving my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988, I went home to Galveston to begin my career. I married my wife Kim in 1989 and we have three great kids, Danielle, Kyle and Jacob. All of them are active in sports and school activities. They are a full time job in and of themselves! My spare time is consumed by my two passions: my kids’ activities and my surfing. I’m in the water every chance I get. It’s a great release and a good excuse to go to cool tropical locations for vacation! I came to League City Family Dentistry in October 2008 after hurricane Ike made landfall. Fortunately, my office and home received little damage. I approached Dr Patterson to allow me to practice part-time in his League City location. He and Michele were kind enough to oblige, and I have found a great site for my second office. I plan to stay on and building a nice second practice in the northern county.

Kruger Peoples, D.D.S.

I am a devoted Christian and family man, who is passionate about dentistry and enjoy explaining the importance of dental hygiene to adults as well as kids. I am a graduate of Morehouse College and Meharry School of Dentistry in 1998. I trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental and Cosmetic Studies (LVI). I also practice at my Houston location which opened in 2000. I live in League City with my lovely wife Daphne, and three kids; Kole, Bianca and Kalyn. When I am not practicing dentistry or staying busy with the kids, you can find me on the golf course or at a Texans game. I am excited to join Texas City Family Dentistry and believe that exceptional dentistry changes lives one smile at a time.

Meet the Hygienists!

Jessica Silvas, R.D.H.

I was raised in the small town of Freer, Texas.  In 1999 I graduated from Texas State College of Harlingen, a branch of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio where I received my degree in Dental Hygiene.  Since then, I have worked in General Dental offices and Periodontal offices. I have been working with Dr. Patterson since 2003.

I am a mother of three wonderful boys.  My hobbies include working out, spending time with my family, boat rides, and weekend rides on a Harley with friends!

Peter Fernandez, R.D.H.

My name is Peter Fernandez and I am originally from southern New Jersey. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1995 from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. Soon after graduation, I worked as a Dental Assistant for a variety of practices in the state of Maryland. After working as a Dental Assistant for six years, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2003 from the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore, Maryland. My wife, Adrienne, completed medical school in 2004, we moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where I worked as a Dental Hygienist for four years. My family and I relocated to League City, Texas in June 2008. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family which includes my sons, Kai and Kameron. I also enjoy road cycling and watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers.

Melissa Canales, R.D.H.

I grew up and graduated from Santa Fe. I worked as a dental assistant after high school for a few years before deciding to pursue a profession in Dental Hygiene. In 2008 I received my Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I have enjoyed working in the Texas City and League City offices since September of 2008. I am married with two beautiful twin girls. When my husband and I are not at dance or soccer practice we enjoy playing golf, not well, and catching a Rockets game with the kids.

Clinical Staff

Our Assistants are the best!  They'll make your visit comfortable, and they truly are the right hand of our practice.  Without question, they are highly trained, but just as important, they have the right people skills which is vital to our practice.  Come meet them in person!

Admin Staff

The heart and soul of our practice is our Admin Staff.  Our practice could not operate without the people who co-ordinate and schedule the day-to-day activities, and all the behind-the-scenes work with Insurance and financing.  These individuals are the first smiling faces you'll see when you come to visit, and we're proud to have them represent League City and Texas City Family Dentistry!
